Denise M. Deitzen, Network Director, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) 12 is pleased to announce that Stephanie A. Young has been selected as the new Medical Center Director for VA Illiana Health Care System, effective June 12, 2016. 

The Danville VAMC includes a 398-bed hospital and a 223-bed Community Living Center, as well as, five outpatient clinics. Ms. Young will oversee the delivery of healthcare to more than 150,000 Veterans and will be responsible for a general purpose budget of $152,497,534 fiscal year [FY] 15) and a workforce of 1488 personnel.

Ms. Young has been serving as the Associate Director for the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center (Saginaw, MI) since 2010 and recently served as the Acting Medical Center Director at the Danville (IL) VAMC. In her Associate Director role, she is responsible for the business operations of the facility, to include Facilities Management, Patient Administration, Nutrition, Environmental Management, Police, Logistics, Fiscal, Human Resources, Information Privacy, Voluntary Service, CBOC Services, Prosthetics, Patient Advocacy, Public Affairs and Strategic Planning. Ms. Young has also served as the Chief, Information Officer at that facility, where she began her VA career in 1992. Additionally, Ms. Young has been the Acting Associate Director for the Northern Indiana Health Care System (Ft. Wayne, IN) and the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC (Charleston, SC). She possesses strong management and leadership skills that are well-suited to the needs of the position. Ms. Young received her Associate in Science from Delta Community College and her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix.
