New Director for VA Illiana Health Care System

New Medical Center Director at VA Illiana Health Care System: Mr. Shawn M. BranskyMr. Shawn Bransky has been selected as the new Medical Center Director for VA Illiana Health Care System, Danville, IL.
Mr. Bransky will report to Danville on May 28, 2019. He will be responsible for overseeing the VA Illiana Health Care System which includes a 302-bed hospital and a 223-bed Community Living Center, as well as four outpatient clinics in Decatur, Mattoon, Peoria and Springfield, Illinois. He will oversee the delivery of healthcare to more than 150,000 Veterans living in the surrounding 30-county area of Illinois and Indiana and responsible for an operating budget of $185,973,699 (FY19) and a workforce of 1,414 personnel.
Mr. Bransky comes to Danville after having served as the Deputy Director for the Phoenix VA Health Care System (Phoenix, Arizona) since April 2017. In this role, he oversaw a budget of $900M and a staff of 850 personnel. He was directly responsible for capital projects, fiscal operations, human resources functions, public affairs, care in the community, business operations, logistics and strategic planning. Prior to his role in Phoenix, he served at the Alaska VA Healthcare System (AVAHCS), Anchorage, Alaska as the Associate Director since August 2015.
Mr. Bransky received a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting degree at Mercer University and a Master’s Degree in Health Administration from Chapman University. He is also the recipient of several military medals to include the Bronze Star following his deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
